I’m Xavi, a documentary photographer and visual educator passionate about exploring photography as a tool for reflection, social change, and self-discovery. My work goes beyond capturing images; it aims to create spaces for dialogue and questioning, engaging both participants and audiences.

A pivotal project in my career was "Del Barrio al Barro", a participatory photography initiative empowering communities to reinterpret their surroundings and share their stories through the lens. This experience reshaped my understanding of photography’s transformative potential, teaching me to see the world through new perspectives.

Another significant milestone was my collaboration with Agua ONG in Kenya, where I documented efforts to improve access to clean water and sustainability in rural communities. This work deepened my belief in photography as a powerful tool to highlight inequalities and inspire change.

Through my exhibitions, I strive to offer a reflective and everyday perspective, inviting viewers to “unknow” themselves through documentary photography. For me, the image is more than a record; it’s a bridge to understanding the unfamiliar and finding new meaning in the ordinary.
